Grand Kalachakra Empowerment: A Prayer for Global Peace

On November 12, 2025, Bhutan hosted a grand and solemn Kalachakra Empowerment ceremony, presided over by the country’s spiritual leader, Je Khenpo. The event attracted esteemed masters and practitioners from around the world, uniting over 70,000 attendees, with 40,000 inside the venue and 30,000 outside. Additionally, many others participated online or via television, creating a powerful collective energy.

The ceremony harnessed the transformative power of Kalachakra to shift the temporal and spatial realms, channeling global goodwill into prayers for the resolution of conflicts and the restoration of peace and harmony worldwide. Bhutan’s nationwide support for the event highlighted its commitment to fostering global peace and collective well-being.

In the afternoon, the group visited a Buddhist university in Thimphu, where they attended an investment and planning session led by the Abbey’s Asset Management Bureau, alongside the Four Great Lopens. Following the meeting, the Lopens offered blessings and empowerment to the attendees, filling the atmosphere with both reverence and warmth.

The evening concluded with a banquet, where His Eminence Tsula Lopen Rinpoche, accompanied by several senior khenpos, joined the gathering. Rinpoche personally distributed gifts, offering blessings and goodwill to all. Attendees also made respectful offerings to the Rinpoche and monastics.

The banquet, marked by heartfelt farewells, brought the Bhutan journey to a fulfilling close.
