The Origin of the Treasure Vase
The treasure vase, known as “Bao Ping” in Chinese, is a special and commonly used spiritual object in traditional Chinese culture, Buddhist culture, and particularly in Tibetan Buddhism. It is believed to improve environmental feng shui and help individuals fulfill their virtuous aspirations. Offering and sustaining the treasure vase is considered an extremely auspicious practice for purifying negative karma, accumulating merits, and assisting in spiritual cultivation.
As one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols in Buddhism, the treasure vase symbolizes the profound and unshakable nature of the Dharma. It represents the gathering of virtues, wisdom, fulfillment, and completeness, much like a treasure vase that holds everything without any leakage.
The practice of the treasure vase originated when the great master Padmasambhava’s consort, Yeshe Tsogyal, implored the compassionate Padmasambhava to provide teachings to alleviate the various calamities affecting sentient beings during the degenerate times. In response, Padmasambhava composed various texts, rituals, and mantras related to the treasure vase practice. These were then consecrated and concealed in mountains with extraordinary supernatural powers. The instructions were given that in the future, accomplished masters would unearth and propagate this practice for the benefit of countless sentient beings.
Living beings in the mundane world are burdened by heavy afflictions, hindering the auspiciousness and power of accumulated merits. Offering and sustaining the treasure vase is considered a supremely effective method for swiftly accumulating spiritual wealth. By making offerings to a pure source of the treasure vase, practitioners can achieve completeness in their spiritual endeavors, experience the growth of mundane and supramundane merits, and mitigate the disasters and obstacles of degenerate times. It is also believed to have a significant impact on praying for the well-being of the nation, harmonious weather, and the flourishing of the Buddha Dharma.
宝瓶缘起
宝瓶乃中国传统文化、佛教文化、尤其是藏传佛教文化中特有的用于改善环境风水、帮助人们达成善愿的常用法宝，供养宝瓶则是消业积福、助缘修行极其殊胜的法物。作为佛教八吉祥圣物之一，寓意佛法深厚坚强，聚福智圆满充足，如宝瓶般无散无漏。
宝瓶法乃当年莲花生大师佛母益西措嘉，为救度末法时期各种天灾人祸，饶益福薄运滞的有情众生而恳请至尊莲花生大师慈悲垂示，莲师遂作各种宝瓶法经文仪轨，以无比神通力埋入山中，并授记此法将于其飞往他方刹土后由大成就者掘藏大师取出，并不断的累世传承，利益无量的有情众生。
娑婆众生烦恼粗重，以致障蔽福德威势，供养宝瓶是快速积累资粮的殊胜之法，如法供养来源清净的宝瓶，对于修道资粮的圆满，世出世间福报的增长，以及消除末法时期的灾难和违缘，祈祷国家安泰、风调雨顺、佛法兴盛等方面都有巨大作用。

The Red Dzambhala is a patron for the improvement of one’s worldly affinities (relationships), increase of benefactors, fortune in abundance, family achieving prosperity.
红财神（主掌人缘，招聚贵人，财源茂盛，家族兴旺。）
The Black Dzambhala is a patron for commanding authority, eradicating grudges and grievances, subjugating demonic influences, preventing loss of wealth.
黑财神（主掌权威，消除怨敌，降伏魔障，避免破财。）
The Green Dzambhala is a patron for good health, purification of ill fate, attainment of virtue and wisdom, clearing negative affinities (relationships).
绿财神（主管健康，净化厄运，具足德智，消除违缘。）
The White Dzambhala is a patron for wisdom, quelling disasters, elimination of poverty, accumulation of wealth.
