Master often says we must speak up!
Master often says we must speak up!
Today, after flying back to Taoyuan, I took a taxi home. While waiting in line, I gave way to a foreign tourist and ended up in a taxi driven by a practitioner of the Pure Land Dharma.
When I got in the car, I noticed a Nine Lotus Pendant hanging from the rearview mirror. I wondered if this was a subtle hint from the upper realm masters , urging me to practice the Nine Lotus Liberation method to help liberate the beings connected to this driver. I then settled into my spiritual self and began silently chanting the Buddha’s name while focusing on the Nine Lotus practice.
As I continued, thoughts of Pure Land teachings and practices began to arise. Then, I thought, “This pendant is quite rare. I should ask the driver where he got it.” So, I began chatting with the driver about the pendant and the Nine Lotuses.
Through our conversation, I learned that the driver practices the Pure Land method. Due to his busy work schedule, chanting the Buddha’s name is the most convenient form of practice for him.
With a heart of compassion, I shared some insights with him about the key points of chanting and also introduced him to OOSS and Master’s courses.
At the end of the ride, the driver gave me a Nine Lotus pendant that he usually hangs on his windshield wiper as a token of our connection. He said he had never heard these key points or methods for achieving Buddhahood in his teachings from monks before.
This experience reminded me that we really need to speak up more often to those with whom we have karmic connections. Usually, when I get into a taxi back home, I fall asleep and wake up only when I arrive. But today, I spoke and made a connection with someone! Grateful to Master!
