According to the Taoist classic Scripture of Longevity and Deliverance by the Southern Dipper, “The Southern Dipper’s Fire Official purges poisons and harms.” During these six days, when the Southern Dipper descends, sincere prayers can dispel disasters, extend life, heal long-standing illnesses, and even transform one’s destiny.
